On November 4, 2023, the Northern Health PQI team facilitated a Level 2 Fundamentals workshop in Terrace, BC. This workshop provided participants the opportunity to develop fundamental quality improvement skills. The session included project presentations by PQI Physician Advisor, Dr. Kalah Blackstock and Northwest (NW) PQI Physician Champion, Dr. Darren Jakubec.

The QI team came together to do some focused planning around the implementation of their new proposal.
The Northern Health PQI team facilitated their first in-person Virtual Action Learning Series (VALS) session on April 22, 2024 in Vancouver, BC. The cohort began in January of 2024 and participants attend a total of 6 sessions.
Level III is PQI's advanced cohort training. Eligible physicians receive up to $30,000 in funding to help them protect their time to train and work on QI. This training gives access to interactive training including lectures, group activities and workshops. Physicians and their teams receive support from PQI coaches, faculty and program advisors
The Northern Health PQI team facilitated the second Prince George Co-Leadership Education module on The Healthcare System and Leading Change on January 20th & 21st of 2023. This session included presentations and activities hosted by NH Organization Development, Finance, Quality & Innovation, UHNBC Senior Operations Officer, PQI and PQI Alumni. Members of the cohort were given the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills while being provided with a space to network with other healthcare professionals.
On September 13 & 14, 2022, PQI Alumni and the SSC/NHA PQI & SQI Steering Committee gathered in Prince George to celebrate the completion of the Virtual Action Learning Series (VALS) level three quality improvement education program by 43 participants in 4 cohorts with collaborative dinner conversations, an evening celebration of learning, storyboard reception, and an inspiring alumni breakfast with guest speaker Dr. Amar Shah.
Attendees included graduating physicians, patient partners, the SSC/NH PQI & SQI Steering Committee, and guests including medical and executive leads of several programs, Doctors of BC, and SSC representatives. The event was an excellent opportunity for conversation, celebration, and relationship building.
Over the years, PQI has provided and participated in multiple opportunities for our healthcare professionals to expand their knowledge and skills. These events are essential for networking and showcasing the hard work that project teams put into their projects and education.
In March of 2020, the Fraser Health Authority Physician Quality Improvement team came to Northern Health to facilitate a Fundamental Education three day session with the team in the North. The event was a successful collaboration between health authorities and provided both the participants and the PQI teams with valuable resources and skills.
