We are pleased to welcome Kim Eggers into the role of Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) Patient Partner Advisor. The PQI Initiative is one of two flagship programs of the Specialist Services Committee (SSC). The SSC represents a partnership between the Government of BC and Doctors of BC.
Kim has been a Patient Partner with the Patient Voices Network (PVN) for 8.5 years. She has participated in a variety of PVN engagements and has worked extensively with the BC Emergency Medicine Network (BCEMN) and British Columbia’s Institute of Technology (BCIT) School of Health Sciences (SOHS). Kim has been involved with the PQI program since 2021, she has completed PQI’s Virtual Action Learning Series (VALS), co-developed and co-facilitated a workshop for the UNBC Research and Quality Conference and has been part of a PQI interview panel.
Kim has had the pleasure of working in many capacities in her journey as a PVN patient partner: as a facilitator, advisor, liaison, council member, and co-chair. She has been a part of many implementation committees and been a steering committee member. She has written articles for health system sites, co-authored medical journal articles and co-written foundational Person and Family Centered Care (PFCC) documents for her health district.
Kim’s primary goal is to collaborate with health care groups and learning institutions to bring about positive changes in BC’s health care system, working towards the ultimate goal of improving it for patients and health care professionals.
