Commitment: The Physician Lead, SQI will be paid for up to 100 hours per year.

This role is central to advancing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in healthcare delivery across Northern BC and beyond.
Position Overview
As the Physician Lead for Spreading Quality Improvement, you will serve as a key strategic advisor and facilitator, guiding the replication and scaling of proven QI projects. You will collaborate with provincial and regional stakeholders—including Doctors of BC, SSC Provincial Co-Leads, and Northern Health leadership—to embed QI principles into clinical and operational practices.
Key Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership: Champion the SQI initiative across Northern Health and contribute to the development of a regional and provincial spread strategy.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with medical staff, operational leaders, and provincial partners to identify, support, and monitor community-based spread projects.
· Capacity Building: Provide mentorship, coaching, and QI training to project teams at both originating and receiving sites.
· Program Development: Co-develop and implement a comprehensive SQI communication and execution plan.
· Governance Participation: Represent Northern Health at QI Steering Committees and provincial team meetings (8–9 meetings annually).
· Advocacy & Promotion: Actively promote the SQI program and support its integration into broader health system improvement efforts.
Qualifications
· Medical Doctor in active clinical practice with current or eligible registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
· Advanced training in Quality Improvement (e.g., PQI graduate).
· Proven leadership in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
· Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Demonstrated ability to lead in dynamic, complex healthcare environments.
· Experience in physician engagement and change management.
· Executive or leadership training (e.g., Sauder Physician Leadership Program, MBA, PMI) is an asset.
