NH PQI Alumni Event

21 NH PQI Alumni met on November 29th at the Blue Horizon Hotel in Vancouver for their annual Alumni Event. Our morning education session was convened by Helen Schneiderman from Kwela Leadership on the topic of Influencing Without Authority. There was plenty of animated discussion, deep engagement and some hilarious pitches as we honed our skills of persuasion and influence.

After a superb Mexican lunch (thanks Heather!), we turned our attention to the needs of the alumni going forward. What were their priorities? Who was interested in joining faculty? And what supports work best for on-going and new QI projects. The program took away some useful feedback and direction for our evolving program, and the Alumni took away the latest version of the NH PQI Alumni book showcasing QI projects from this and all cohorts before.

To cap it off, we finished the day enjoying each other’s company over dinner and a drink at Earls Kitchen and Bar next door on Robson Street. We took a moment to celebrate the recent graduates from Cohort 6 of our Advanced level 3 QI training program (VALS) who were able to join. Congratulations to all the Cohort 6 VALS graduates, what an achievement! You’ve now joined an elite group Provincial Physician Quality Improvers.

This year’s Cohort 6 VALS graduates were (from left to right) Dr. Kate Niethammer, Dr. Angela How, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed, also Dr. Christin Fabriel-Leclerc, Dr. Paul Van Zyl, Dr. Michael Ryeburn, Dr. Stephen Boakye, Cynthia Hiller and Joanne Vigue.
